September Mr. Li Ka-shing initiated the concept for Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business
2002
January Preparations began to establish Chueng Kong GSB
May Official application was made to the Chinese Ministry of Education
July Construction of Beijing Campus began at Tower E3, Oriental Plaza
August 7 faculty from the world's leading business schools joined Cheung Kong GSB as founding faculty
October Cheung Kong GSB Oriental Plaza Campus opened
November Received final approval from the Ministry of Education
November Commencement ceremony for the first intake of over 100 EMBA Program students
December Mr. Li Ka-shing spoke to EMBA students on "The Art of Making Money," as the first in the "Learning with the Masters" series
2003
January Cheung Kong GSB launched its first EDP program titled "Finance for Non-Financial Managers"
March EDP offered its first issue-driven program titled "Managing Large Organizations"
July Cheung Kong GSB launched the China Case Center to develop business cases in support of faculty teaching and research August 2nd EMBA Intake of more than 100 students
September Strategic partnership with Lenovo to conduct research and write case studies
October "Managing Large Organizations" offered as an EDP open enrolment program
November The Cheung Kong MBA program launched with an intake of 50 students with average GMAT scores of 680

2004
January Preparations began to establish the Cheung Kong Alumni Association
February Cheung Kong GSB moved into its state-of-the-art learning facility in Shanghai
March Cheung Kong GSB hosted visits by government agencies including the Ministry of Education, the Beijing Bureau of Higher Education, and the Guangdong Bureau of Higher Education
April Successful conclusion of the "Cheung Kong Management Forum" 2004 series
May 4th EMBA Intake of over 100 students. June Mr. Li Ka-shing spoke to EMBA students on "The Art of Dedication"
June Senior officials of the Academic Degree Office of the State Council visited Cheung Kong
June Cheung Kong GSB became an official member of AACSB International.
August The Cheung Kong EMBA Program launched international residency programs in France and Italy

May The inaugural Cheung Kong China-Korea CEO Dialogue brought top CEOs to Shenzhen
May The 2007 China CEO Program launched with Hong Kong module

July Cheung Kong GSB hosted UCLA Executive MBA Students for 2nd China Residency Program
July The first Cheung Kong GSB-PKU-TSINGHUA Accounting Summer Camp held at Cheung Kong

March IE Business School brought 22 executives to Cheung Kong GSB in Beijing for intensive training entitled – China: An Inside View
May Cheung Kong GSB sent a group of 5 volunteers to Dujiangyan of Sichuan to support people affected by the Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12. Alumni and staff also gave generous donations for relief and reconstruction efforts in the affected area
