
Beijing, May 6, 2008 - Dr. Elizabeth Weldon has joined the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business faculty as an Adjunct Professor of Strategic Human Resource Management. In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Weldon plans to further establish and develop the English-language Executive Education curriculum at Cheung Kong GSB.
Prior to joining Cheung Kong GSB, she was the H. Smith Richardson, Jr. Visiting Fellow at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), a top-ranked global provider of leadership development experiences. She was also Professor of Organization Behavior at IMD International in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she taught and designed executive programs focused on leadership, corporate renewal, and strategic human resource management. She has also served on the faculties of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Indiana University, the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois.
Professor Weldon has received awards for her research from the Organization Behavior Division of the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association. Professor Weldon has also won the Teaching Excellence Award in the MBA program at Indiana University in 1992 and 1996, and she was named several times to the Teaching Honor Roll at the Chicago campus of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She was also cited for teaching excellence in the MBA program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The co-editor of Advances in Global Leadership, v. 4 (JAI press, 2006) and Management and Organizations in China (Macmillan, 2000).Professor Weldon is currently doing research in three areas: the design of fast, agile organizations; the effectiveness of Western leadership development practices in Asia; and leadership development in Chinese companies.
