On July 9 2008, Cheung Kong GSB brought scholars together at the Beijing campus to discuss current topics in marketing and industrial economics. Professors Jeongwen Chiang, Bing Jing, Brian Viard, and Hao Zhao, resident faculty at Cheung Kong GSB, joined researchers from around the world including New York University, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Tsinghua University, University of California, University of Maryland, Peking University, and Seoul National University to discuss current academic research in these areas. Topics included the role of corporate social responsibility in marketing, the design of electricity markets, patient and physician learning in pharmaceutical markets, and models for predicting credit card customer risk. Many graduate students from local universities attended the conference with interest. Based upon the success of the forum, Cheung Kong GSB plans to hold this conference annually.
